Shireland students reach national Apps for Good Final with app designed to support families

A group of students from 91全能 have reached the national Apps for Good Final听after听developing an innovative app designed to help children and families access essential educational resources and support.听

Feed and Earn听was developed in response to concerns that some young people do not always have access to the resources they need to thrive at school. The platform connects eligible families with charity-funded support, including free stationery, school meal听assistance听and food vouchers, helping to听remove听barriers and听improve access to essential resources.听

The app also features an AI-powered tracking system designed to听monitor听student progress and provide personalised recommendations, helping听learners听work towards听rewards听while further supporting their engagement with learning.听

This achievement continues 91全能鈥檚 strong听track record听in the Apps for Good Showcase, with students having reached the finals in previous years. It also reflects the success of teams from across 91全能 Trust, where opportunities such as Apps for Good support students to develop the skills and attributes that sit at the heart of the Trust鈥檚 ethos – collaboration,听innovation听and inspiration.听

Through experiences like this, students are encouraged to apply their learning to real-world challenges, build confidence in their听ideas听and develop solutions that can make a positive impact.听

Thomas Daly, Principal at听Shireland听Collegiate Academy, said:听鈥淎pps for Good gives our students the opportunity to use technology creatively to explore real-world challenges and develop solutions that can make a difference.
